Sentra Announces Industry-First GenAI Assistant for Cloud Data Security

Mar 7, 2024

While GenAI offers enormous potential to transform our world, there are some concerns, including security risks. To help overcome these challenges, Sentra Inc., a cloud-native security startup, announced Sentra Jagger, a new large language model (LLM) assistant for cloud data security.

The new capability is designed to provide organizations with real-time security insights and recommendations. Sentra Jagger will begin a limited preview in March and will be generally available in the second half of 2024.

Founded in 2021, Sentra enables security teams to gain full visibility and control of cloud data and protect against sensitive data. The platform protects against data duplication, over-permissions, misconfigurations, unauthorized access, and several other types of security issues.

Sentra Jagger will help enhance the functionality of Sentra’s Data Detection and Response (DDR) and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platforms.

There is a growing demand for security teams to implement strategies and tools to protect data from emerging cybersecurity threats. Sentra Jagger provides an AI-powered assistant to analyze and respond to cybersecurity threats. According to Sentra, the AI assistant reduces as much as 80% of the time required to accomplish tasks such as data store reporting and policy implementation. The reduction in time required to analyze and fix security threats allows organizations to improve their overall operational efficiency and strengthen security measures.

Garner predicts that by 2025, over 95 percent of new digital workloads will be deployed on cloud-native platforms, up from 30 percent in 2021. This indicates that new workloads deployed in a cloud-native environment will be pervasive, not just popular. Anything that is not on the cloud, will be considered legacy. Companies such as Sentra are leading the way in innovative security solutions for cloud-native platforms.

“Our LLM helps facilitate this process by seamlessly embedding within the product interface, providing users with the roadmap needed to simplify and speed data investigations. Users can easily pivot between Sentra Jagger and platform screens, making it easy to use across teams without compromising operational speed or access to relevant information,” said Yair Cohen, co-founder and VP of product, Sentra.

Sentra Jagger offers recommendations for specific security actions through an intuitive user interface and customizable dashboards. Users can optimize visibility into an organization’s data by creating user roles and preferences. In addition, the enhanced incident response capabilities allow users to take actional steps to identify and respond to threats.

A key feature of the new capabilities is that users can make direct queries about Sentra Jagger’ s findings, removing the need to manually navigate through complicated portals.  Users also have access to simplified interpretation of security queries. This means that users across different levels of expertise have access to clear and concise explanations.

Another useful feature of the expansion is integration with the existing tech stack. Users get a unified security management experience for a holistic view of the organization s data security posture.

The arrival of LLMs has reduced the friction between users and technology, making even the most complex systems now accessible to users through plain language. Building on this momentum, Sentra Jagger is leading the way for using LLMS  in the cybersecurity space, making it easier for organizations to bolster their data security posture and effectiveness in response to security incidents.
